Background: Coach Wells laid the foundation for his impressive career at Hillsborough Community College, showcasing his talent on the field. His journey began at Palmetto High School, where he not only graduated in 2005 but also earned prestigious accolades such as all-area, all-county, and all-state honorable mention.

Coaching Philosophy: Coach Wells is dedicated to imparting essential skills beyond the game. His coaching philosophy revolves around instilling communication, work ethic, and character traits in players. These skills not only contribute to their development as teammates but also prepare them for leadership roles in the community and throughout life.

Versatility in Coaching: With a diverse coaching career spanning various age groups, Coach Wells has worked with players ranging from 8 to 18 years old. His commitment to player development is evident as several of his students have successfully transitioned to collegiate-level play.

Current Role: In the fall of 2021, Coach Wells joined the Eckerd College baseball staff as an Assistant Coach. His valuable insights and coaching expertise continue to contribute to the growth and success of the team.

Jamie Mallard

Jamie Mallard, a former MLB draftee, brings a wealth of experience to our coaching staff. Drafted by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Jamie played for Middleton HS and Hillsborough Community College. His professional background enriches our players’ understanding of the game.
